We read the story Balloons Over Broadway and watched some live videos of the Macy's Day Parade. Very fascinating to many students!
With our learning buddies, students chose their balloon characters and discussed how they would make it into a model. We then planned and sketched, just like in our writing. Students used this to build their own balloon, getting ready for the main even!
