Book Swap

To encourage summer reading, your student has the opportunity to take home new “used” books of their interests.  

All students are invited to bring in gently used books, from home that they have already read.  Your child may bring in as many as 10 books.  In return, they will be given a credit for each book to use at the swap.  Each book is worth one credit.

Used books can be brought to school between June 3^rd – June 5th.  Books are to be given to the classroom teacher.  Please make sure the books are gently used and not torn or worn.  Your child’s old book will become another child’s new book.

Please take this opportunity to become an active part in your child’s reading habits.

We will be studying "Life Cycles of Animals" and be doing a stream study. Prepare for hiking and getting wet at the stream!

Completing this google form grants your permission for your child(ren) to attend this field trip.

Field Trip Permission Slip

In addition to the permission slip, we are asking for a donation toward the cost of the trip to the center and the cost of the bus transportation to get there. 

The cost of the field trip and the bus to transport all of our 2nd graders safely is approximately $350.

$8 to cover the cost for one child ($5 field trip, $3 bus)

$24 to cover the cost for my child + 2 others

Please send your donation in cash or check made payable to "TCAPS" (no other checks may be accepted)

ABC Countdown

The days are QUICKLY being marked off! 14 days left...yikes!

Next week is our short week. No school on Monday! Enjoy the Memorial holiday!

All activities next week are at school activities without any preparation from home. Look for some of these fun activities coming home throughout the week.

HUGE thank you to Papa J's!! They donated ALL pizzas and cheesy bread for ALL our second grade students! It was delicious!!

Thank you also to those parents who donated drinks, plates and napkins!

We had a blast at lunch together! We even rounded it out with a fun game of duck duck goose :)

 

ABC Countdown

We have many fun and exciting days ahead of us as we plug through out ABC Countdown! If students would like to bring in a jump rope on Wednesday they can. Mrs. Ray is also being so generous to lend us some activity materials to our classrooms!

Another day coming is W for Wet Day! This is the same day as our end of the year field trip (June 11...more of those details to come). We are planning a great afternoon to come back to. For that day we are asking for help from ALL second grade families as far as what you can possibly contribute. We have created a sign up genius for supplies that are needed. This is for ALL 76 second grade students. Any donation is appreciated! Thank you in advance!

A for Animal or Action Figure

Not only did we love the company of our furry friends today, but they were also able to meet some other new friends in our classroom! Later, they were even able to take a field trip to another classroom where they met a whole new set of creatures. The excitement was crazy!
