Global Play Day

Wednesday, February 2nd Global School Play Day
”Because The World Needs PLAY… Now More than Ever.” Students will participate in a day of play based activities without technology. To make this day a success and memorable, we are asking for a little help from our families. Here is How You Can Help * Playdough donations (new) * Crayola Watercolor donations (new or used) * Puzzles from home (100 pieces or less) * Board games from home (nothing with weapons or violence) * Craft materials (this can be new or anything you have laying around your house)

**If you are interested in donating any of the above items, please send them to school on the 1st of February. The items from home can come to school on the 1st or 2nd. Please label any of your games or puzzles with your child’s name. **

Thank you for partnering up with us to make this day possible!!

5th Grade Valentine's Day Candy Grams FOR SALE! 

A Fundraiser to help our 5th graders attend their 3 day and 2 night spring field trip to the Leelanau Outdoor Center.
Monday, February 7th - February 11th

Westwoods students can bring in $1 for every candy gram they wish to send to another person in the building. 5th graders will have booths in the morning that whole week where students can stop by and pay for candy grams they wish to send. Cash only, please! On Valentine's Day, the recipient of each candy gram will receive a sucker with a personalized note attached.

Due to shipping delays with Scholastic and the pure frustration they are causing, we are doing this order, and one more this school year...then done.

Addition With Regrouping

We are learning how to add two, and three digit, numbers while regrouping in different place values.

We are turning ones into tens and tens into hundreds. 

Day one and they did amazing!

Our book, If I Ran the School, has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Studentreasures National Book Challenge!!!

Your child is coming home with a consent form that needs to be filled out by their guardian. Once we have secured the approval for each students, we will be able to move forward in this process/contest.
Please sign the bottom part of the form and return no later than Wednesday, January 5.
