Another book study completed!!

Friday morning we finished our LAST chapter of I Survived the California Wildfires. Very engaging and suspenseful story!! It was a quick read, but a good one! Hard to end a good book! 

 This is on its way home to enjoy with someone new OR pass on to a new reader!

We will start out next book study after spring break.

Our classroom has been doing an awesome job reading for the Read A Thon!!

Please continue to encourage reading at home. They can log their minutes at school if they can't at home, just remind them to write down books read and for how long. I give a small amount of time at the end of each day for students to log minutes.

All pledges due by March 23. Good luck fundraising!

Reading Takes You Places!

Students received their login information today. You should see this coming home.
This explains how to activate your child’s account, how to raise funds, and prizes that will be given out to students, classes, and the entire school for their reading and funds raised. 
If your child cannot access the “readafun” website from home, please ask your child to record any time spent reading in the evening on a piece of paper. They can log the time on the “readafun” website when they get to school the next day. 

HONESTY
I stressed that it is important to be honest about the time they log and that they write appropriate and positive comments when commenting.

SPIRIT FRIDAYS

Students can participate in Spirit Days each Friday!
Friday, March 3rd - Tourist Day - We are off & away on our Reading Road Trip. Dress like a TOURIST!
Friday, March 10th - Chillin in the Sun - Dress as if you are going someplace sunny and warm. Sunglasses, beach hats, beach towels.
Friday, March 17th - St. Patrick's Day - Wear green
Friday, March 23rd - Staycation Day - Wear comfy clothes day/pj day
