Journeys

Below is our focus for the week in our LA curriculum of Journeys.
In addition, we have the anchor text The Mysterious Tadpole which reintroduces the students the fantasy genre. Ask your child what makes this text fantasy. As we read it, there were many giggles from beginning to end.
The other aspect of the story that we are focusing on is the structure of the story.
Who are the characters?
What is the setting?
What is the plot from beginning to middle to end?
Students will also have other connecting texts while focusing on grammar, phonics and spelling.

Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!
Here are some great ideas on how to help, heal and protect our earth!

Weekly Homework

Here is a copy of the weekly homework.
The only page I did not post is the student math pages. Math pages assigned are per student with a variety of learning. I did not want to create any confusion, so if there are any questions or concerns on math please have your child bring their homework back in for me to further explain and help with.
Please help to remind your child that all homework is due back on Friday.
Thank you!

Earth Day Field Trip

Wednesday we ventured to the American Waste Recycle Center.
This was a great field trip to see all that gets recycled and also how the whole process works from separating items recycled to binding everything up to ship out. The presentation was informative and the tour was a fantastic visual to how everything works.
This was a great connection to Earth Day!
