Postcard Exchange

This week we finished our MI postcards! 

Over the past couple weeks all students worked in small groups creating elaborative sentences (connection to our current writing) about Michigan facts while also adding a fun twist about their native state. Then I took all their ideas and created one large message including different parts from everyone's ideas. Come Monday, each student received their own Michigan postcard to prepare. They pasted our classroom message, and added an opening and closing. Last step was to find out what state their card was assigned to. This gained MANY smiles of excitement to know their card was going to New York, Colorado, or anywhere else in our nation. 

Postcards are out and ready to be received by schools all over! 

Now we anxiously wait for postcards to arrive to Westwoods!
