Collecting

We are collecting toilet paper tubes (not paper towel tubes). If you could send yours in this week, it would be super helpful.

Carnival Baskets

WW Carnival: Under the Sea
Friday, May 3
5:00 - 8:00
(There will be NO Extended Day on this Friday!)
One of the most exciting parts of the carnival is the classroom silent auction baskets. Last year, our raffle baskets were a huge success so we are keeping the same format this year, using raffle tickets.

We are asking families to voluntarily donate items to their child’s classroom based on the themes listed below.  Even a small item can add up to a nice basket. Hand-crafted items in addition to gift certificates are always welcome. It never hurts to ask around the community, too!

We are also asking for large bin donations to put all the donations in.  If you have a bin you would like to donate please send it in to the office.

Tickets will be available for purchase before/after school on various days. Dates for before/after school ticket sales will be shared shortly.

American Waste Field Trip

Monday, April 22th
9:00 am to 11:00 am
We will be touring a state-of-the-art recycling plant here in Traverse City, where students will wear safety vests and goggles to walk along the assembly line and climb the machinery to see the whole course that recycling travels. It is our hope that children come away from this field trip with a new appreciation for recycling and a desire to recycle more things for the rest of their lives.
Completing this Google form grants your permission for your child to attend this field trip.
In addition to the permission slip, we are asking for a donation toward the cost of the trip to the center and the cost of the bus transportation to get there.
The cost of the field trip and the bus to transport all of our 2nd graders safely is approximately $200.
$3 to cover the cost for one child (free field trip, approx. $3 bus)
$10 to cover the cost for my child + 2 others
Please send your donation in cash or check made payable to: WW PTO
Thank you!  We will be walking on machinery, so plan on sending your child to school in protective tennis shoes (no open toes or heels). We will be indoors, but it could be chilly, so dressing warmly is recommended.
We also need about 5-6 parent volunteers for this field trip. You can meet us there or follow the bus. Please let me know if you are able to help. Thank you!
