Jellies!

Over the last couple weeks we have been working on a writing all about jellyfish. We use articles and a media source to research a topic. We then find and highlight all important evidence to use in our writing, while including elaborate details to connect. This method is very intention to teach the writing process. We are also learning more about a variety of topics that we are studying!
Look for your child's awesome work on jellyfish coming home!

Idioms!

Our classroom, in both grade levels, have been working on idioms.
With both groups having differentiated idioms, we came together to match some fun sayings. There were many giggles on some of the goofy idioms we have, and some they've heard before and now put meaning behind!

Hour of Code!!

The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.
On Tuesday we started our coding with our learning buddies in Mrs. DePlaunty's fourth grade classroom! Then we continued our coding practice on our own to round out the hour.
It is AMAZING how quickly kids catch and put what they know into motion!
Coding will be part of our Friday chioce time from now on since it is a high interest of practice.
