Adopt a Sailor on the USS Gerald Ford
The Adopt a Soldier for Christmas Organization is sending Christmas packages to the sailors on the USS Gerald Ford, presently in the Middle East. In these packages are thank you notes from students and candy they love!
The candy included is from students Halloween collection. If students would like to, completely optional, they can bring in as much candy as they would like to donate to our sailors! This candy can come in at anytime all the way up until next Fri., Nov. 3.
Candy and thank you notes will be collected from Westwoods Friday, Nov. 3
The 30th is our big fall field trip in place of a Halloween party. So we decided to add a little more holiday fun with our costumes. Halloween day we will throw on our costumes and mosey outside to create our own Halloween parade down Fishers Run.
Since students will already have their costumes on and ready, they will be wearing these home.
Please fill out this form to give us permission to take your child off school grounds for our parade.
Your SuPeR GENEROUS donation of books to our classroom is greatly
appreciated! We had a mix of books this round, where students had a HUGE variety to choose from. Team McNitt is EXREMELY excited about being able to add another book to their home libraries!
After reading the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, we decided to use that story to create our own! The ideas were super creative and very comical! The rough drafts came home for you to enjoy. The final copies are up on our school wall for you to enjoy throughout conferences. They turned out AMAZING!
Halloween is approaching! As a second grade team we are going to the take the students on a field trip to Pahl's Pumpkin Patch instead of a Halloween party.
Usually Halloween celebrations include bringing costumes to school, making/buying treats for a party, donating supplies, and receiving candy and treats. In place of that, and everything that comes along with it, we would like to take the kids on an exciting fall adventure!
* Students will still be able to wear their costumes at school on Halloween day, but we will not be having a classroom party due to this field trip the day before.
* WHEN: Monday, Oct. 30th *NEED: A COLD LUNCH to eat at Pahl's. Appropriate clothing for the weather, and sneakers/boots *CHAPERONES: We are allowing 6 chaperones per class. Please email your classroom teacher if you interested. First come. Please no siblings.
