Toys for Tots Collection: Long Lake Fire Rescue

Monday, Dec. 2
Long Lake Fire Rescue will be bringing a truck to Westwoods collecting toy donations from our students!
If you
are able to participate, please send a new, unwrapped toy on that day for your child to give. If you’d like to send two toys, that would enable another student to experience the joy of giving as well.
This is such a rewarding experience for the students and we look forward to the excitement that it brings.

Another Great Day!

Even with the cancellation of our field trip, we still had VERY Happy Halloween!

I tried to get all the event pics we were partaking in, but of course could not! Here are some of the festivities from Halloween!
From finishing our week book study of Room on a Broom, to bingo, to decorating kindness rocks, to a pizza lunch, to Halloween games, to an inside pumpkin patch to a chill end of a Sing Thriller viewing. I think we had a successful Halloween!

Ancient Chinese Civilization

We have been learning about Ancient China's Civilization. Today we read about the different forms of writing from thousands of years ago from Cuneiform to Hieroglyphs. Chinese characters and symbols were a focus, since it is China's current form of writing. We were able to see characters that meant words, phrases and just letters. Students had the opportunity to try it out themselves and write their name.
