Responsibility Eggs!
Our classroom theme for a couple weeks is responsibility. We have many texts, activities, and learning focusing around what responsibility is and how to exercise it!
PROJECT EGG PET/BABY
Keeping track of their own egg. As I am sure you have all heard :)
All students received their egg last Tuesday, with a pom pom on the inside that they have to protect and keep track of. There are many places the egg does not go (specials, lunch, first recess, etc.) or circumstances the egg does not come out for (work and listen time). However, if there is somewhere students need to go, but the egg can't go (the bathroom) then they have to find someone to watch their egg until they return. Yes, an egg babysitter :)
Students are also taking their egg out to second recess with them. This has turned in to many students running a babysitting business for eggs while they run off and play for awhile. Hilarious!
I have absolutely LOVED the creativity students are initiating during this responsibility project. Small huts are even made at home to bring in for their egg to rest in. Adorable!!
This is the last week with our eggs! Thursday is the day you will see your child's pet egg come home! If a student does have an egg accident or loses their egg...it is okay! This is just a fun activity to spice up our school day, and give the students a little extra engagement to their day!

Done!
A Book study completed!!
I Survived the California Wildfires
Very engaging and suspenseful story!! We not only read the story together, and enjoyed all the twists and turns, but we also analyzed the text. Each concluding chapter involved students comprehending what was read, learning new vocabulary, putting grammar into context and also inferring for what was to come.
Awesome challenge and great discussion!
This book is on its way home to enjoy with someone new OR pass on to a new reader!
Thank you to the Tucker and LeMieux Family for the great book!!
Thank You Mrs. Sulecki

Global Day of Play!!
”Because The World Needs PLAY… Now More than Ever.” Students will participate in a day of play based activities without technology.
Our classroom will play ALL DAY long!! A well deserved day, to drop the books and engage in some fun and play! Let kids be kids!
What Can the Students Bring? Puzzles from home (100 pieces or less) Board games from home (nothing with weapons or violence) Craft materials (this can be new or anything you have laying around your house) Lego Sets OR Legos (please label their bag or box) We talked about all these items, and more! They were also advised to ask all heads of the household before taking items from the home.

Curriculum Books Coming Home
Both Volume 1 editions of the LA Readers Notebook and Math curriculum books are heading home this week. You will notice pages that are NOT done in both books. Supplemental material, in the classroom, were replaced with those pages. This provided more of a challenge to all students with more rigor for learning. However, I did tell all students that any pages not done, are a GREAT opportunity for practice on concepts that they have already learned. So, instead of recycling something so valuable, instead, they can keep these books in a place that they can frequently come back to and work on at home.
A great resource for continued practice!
Thank you for your extra support!
