Responsibility Eggs!

Our classroom theme for a couple weeks is responsibility. We have many texts, activities, and learning focusing around what responsibility is and how to exercise it!
PROJECT EGG PET/BABY
Keeping track of their own egg. As I am sure you have all heard :)

All students received their egg last Tuesday, with a pom pom on the inside that they have to protect and keep track of. There are many places the egg does not go (specials, lunch, first recess, etc.) or circumstances the egg does not come out for (work and listen time). However, if there is somewhere students need to go, but the egg can't go (the bathroom) then they have to find someone to watch their egg until they return. Yes, an egg babysitter :)
Students are also taking their egg out to second recess with them. This has turned in to many students running a babysitting business for eggs while they run off and play for awhile. Hilarious!
I have absolutely LOVED the creativity students are initiating during this responsibility project. Small huts are even made at home to bring in for their egg to rest in. Adorable!!
This is the last week with our eggs! Thursday is the day you will see your child's pet egg come home! If a student does have an egg accident or loses their egg...it is okay! This is just a fun activity to spice up our school day, and give the students a little extra engagement to their day!
