Ancient Chinese Civilization

We have been learning about Ancient China's Civilization. Today we read about the different forms of writing from thousands of years ago from Cuneiform to Hieroglyphs. Chinese characters and symbols were a focus, since it is China's current form of writing. We were able to see characters that meant words, phrases and just letters. Students had the opportunity to try it out themselves and write their name.

Students learned about Indigenous People Day today!
We talked about different Indigenous communities in our region, and all over North America. Moccasins were a part of their tradition, and something special to celebrations. Students loved talking about their own special shoes, traditions they have, and celebrations with their families have.
After reading Rock Your Mocks, students were able to design their own moccasins with significant items, colors, and designs. It was really interesting to see the variety of significant items on their moccasins!
