A Special Moment

This week, our class had a very special moment. Our high school classroom helper, Anna, shared her personal story about living with epilepsy. With honesty and bravery, she spoke about what epilepsy is, how it affects her daily life, and the importance of understanding and empathy.
Anna’s willingness to share her experience helped our students see that challenges can be met with courage, and that everyone has a story worth hearing. We’re so grateful to have her as part of Team McNitt! Her presence and her voice make a meaningful difference every day.
In honor of Anna, we painted pumpkins purple to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan!

CKLA - Ancient Greece

Students have begun to explore the civilization of ancient Greece, and see the ways in which parts of that world are present in our world—in language, government, art, architecture, the Olympics, and more.
Students learn about the city-states of Sparta and Athens, the emergence of democracy, gods and goddesses of ancient Greece. and the philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.
Students continue to develop their writing skills as they create compound sentences using conjunctions.
