Math testing only begins this week.
Results will be sent home in student report cards on Feb. 6.
Regardless of what NWEA results show…all students are making really nice growth this year, and I that will be reflected in their Feb. report card.

Reward: Blankets & Forts

Great reward! Such creative forts! Fun to hear the laughter, giggles of pure joy coming from under their blankets!
Definitely doing this again!

Students are allowed to bring no more than TWO blankets.
If they would like to bring in a flashlight/headlamp for reading in their fort they may.
We will build our forts & then try them as a little reading nook!

Movie, PJ's & Coco Bar Friday!

Great afternoon of watching Migration. Not only is it a great movie, but it went along with our Cycles in Nature domain for CKLA.

CKLA Knowledge: Domain 5: Insects

This domain will introduce students to the largest group of animals on Earth. Students will learn:

The characteristics of insects

The life cycles of insects

How insects can be categorized as solitary or social

How insects are viewed as both helpful & harmful

For example, students will learn how insects are important to the process of pollination and in the production of honey, some cosmetics, and even medicines.

This domain will lay the foundation for review and further study of the life cycles, habitats, and classifications of insects and other animals in later grades.
