Used Book Sale

April 24 - 28 

Westwoods 5th Graders are holding a used book sale to raise money for their three-day camp experience at Leelanau Outdoor Center.

BOOK PRICES:

$1 for soft cover

$2 for hard cover

Early Reader books are 2 for $1.00

Students will visit the store during the school day with their class

Team McNitt will go Wednesday morning at 9:00

The store will also be open from 8:45-9:00

Annual Westwoods Carnival

Planning process has begun for this year's Spring Carnival!

- Day-of event help (sign up will come out at a later date)

This event is the largest of the year and takes time to plan.

We have a great start for the overall idea of the events, games and activities, so now we need help executing!

Pit Spitters Reading Program

How the program works: The Pit Spitters reading program is based on students completing 15 minutes of reading a day for 30 days, in exchange for 2 FREE Pit Spitters tickets!

EACH DAY
Read for 15 minutes then color one of the Pit Spitters logo on the tracking form.
Once all the logos are colored in, congratulations!
You have earned two FREE tickets good for a Pit Spitters game listed on the form.

NOW WHAT?

Return all completed forms to school.
The Pit Spitters will process each order and send the participating school their tickets for their selected reading redemption day. Additional tickets for parents, guardians,  siblings, etc., can also be ordered using the form. 

Our Classroom is Making a Book!

Our class is working on creating our very own professionally bound book! Each student will be writing and illustrating their very own part in the collaborative effort. Our book is about transforming in to something in our building. The ideas were AMAZING and the reasons were so creative!!! Ask your child about the page they are writing and illustrating.

Raffle baskets are always a huge hit and a successful part of our school carnival! One of the ways you can help support our event is to donate items for our classroom raffle basket. Our classroom theme: Sports (students voted) Donation Ideas: indoor or outdoor sport items, balls, gear, clothing, hats, teams, anything sports related We will also need someone to donate a basket or bin to hold all of the items. You may start sending in donations between now and Friday, May 5th.

WW Used Book Sale!

5th grade is hosting a used book sale in celebration of Earth Day and as a bonus fundraiser for LOC. 

Get your "gently" used books in during the week of April 17-21! 
Students can bring them to our classroom and I will deliver all to our fifth grade classrooms.
If a child brings 10 books (or more) they will receive a free book coupon!!

Book sale is April 24 - 28.
All books priced $1-$2!
