Students came home with a new homework packet Tuesday...(snow day Monday)!
NEW spelling words
The students learned the 'ow' spelling and that it could represent two sounds
/oe/
This sound occurs at the end of words.
/ow/
The spelling 'ow' is tricky, so it can also represent the /ow/ sound, usually in the middle or at the end of words.
At school the student divided their spelling words into two columns for a visual to see and understand what 'ow' spelling sound was used in each word. We also identified the placement of the 'ow' spelling in words to show the rule of the /oe/ sound when it should fall at the end of words.
