We have begun a science program called Mystery Science!
It provides ready-made science mysteries for elementary school students. Each lesson contains a central mystery, discussion questions, supplemental reading, and a hands-on activity.
Today we started a new unit in Animal Biodiversity. This units helps students develop a sense of wonder for biodiversity: The range and variety of animals found on earth
Students gain practical experience in identifying animals and sorting them in scientific groups, while applying their knowledge.
In today's lesson students examined how scientists organize animals into groups based on their characteristics. In the activity, students sort animal cards into groups, then classify three "challenge" animals.
