Epic Wings!!

Second grade students got a HUGE surprise at the end of the school day! Today was T day for wear your favorite TEAM colors. Since we chose our team name and team colors, we surprised the student with their very own t-shirts that sported both!!
Thank you to the Shedlock family for purchasing our classroom shirts!! They LOVED them!

We had a fun game of catch to pass out everyone's shirts :) Then they tried them all on. I did get everyone's shirts a little bigger in case of washing and shrinking, and so all kids can wear them for more than just a few months.
When we got back into the classroom students were able to sign one anothers shirts as a fun memory. I did collect all the shirts and plan to pass them back out on Wednesday morning for all students to wear on our field trip. This way our group has a uniform and we know where one another is at all times making each one of us easier to find. Also, they look pretty cool in their shirts and we can show the new duds off as a crew :)

Countdown Continues...

We are approaching our last full week of school! Here is the schedule for our classroom countdown.
June 4th is wear your favorite team colors. Some students aren't dedicated to a team and don't have a favorite team. Because of this the second grade decided to create our own team name and team color. All students came up with some good fit names for our crew, they were narrowed down, then all four second grades voted on the one they liked the best.

Our team colors are blue and green
I will be wearing blue and green! Kids can do the same or they can still wear the colors of the professional team they love.

You are a Wonder!

Wonder is filling everyone with kindness and becoming and super example and resource of our classroom! One activity this week was to create our very own You are a Wonder poster. Kids decorated their own poster. Then later, we all walked around to fill in the bubbles with different adjectives that we think describe that person. Some even filled in a bubble about themselves! Great to see what they think of themselves as well :)

Kindness Rocks

This week we decorated rocks with kindness! It was Thursdays 'R' day and also connected with the book Wonder that we have been reading. Choosing to be kind!
All students had a fantastic message to spread with their words! Each student had two rocks to paint on.
One for the Pavilions in Traverse City
One for our classroom as little reminders as we go through the end of our school year
Rocks for the Pavilions will not only be enjoyed by the residents who live there, but will also be part of the Pavilions Beautification this summer and also enjoyed during their lawn concerts and more. Their donated Rock Garden will be purposeful to so many as they spread the message of kindness to all!
Very proud of their efforts!
