LAST Classroom Book Study

 This week our classroom started our LAST book study: Wonder
It is a fantastic book that reinforces the lesson of being kind and choosing to be kind. Something we talk about in our classroom often. 

We are really excited about listening to this book. Each day we are reading Wonder for about 30 minutes while doing different activities connecting to the stories theme of being kind during the read aloud.
Our goal is to finish this book by June 8. That is V day on our ABC Countdown. V for video, for a possible viewing of the movie Wonder that day.

Hard to believe we are approaching the end of our school year!!
Wed - A - Bring in a small stuffed animal to hang with you for the day!
Thurs - B - Our class with be playing an assortment of BINGO games
Fri - C - Card Games - Bring in any card games to play with friends!
A copy of our ABC Countdown went home with all students on Friday. There is also a link on the side of our blog to reference as well.

Another Book Study Finished!

BOOK COMPLETED!!
Our book study, The Call of the Wild, has come to a close!
It was a very interesting book, that took a lot of attention, explaining, introducing, and engagement. To read a classic in our classroom was awesome! Kuddos to all students to hung in there until the end!

Used Book Sale

April 24 - 28 

Westwoods 5th Graders are holding a used book sale to raise money for their three-day camp experience at Leelanau Outdoor Center.

BOOK PRICES:

$1 for soft cover

$2 for hard cover

Early Reader books are 2 for $1.00

Students will visit the store during the school day with their class

Team McNitt will go Wednesday morning at 9:00

The store will also be open from 8:45-9:00

Annual Westwoods Carnival

Planning process has begun for this year's Spring Carnival!

MAY 19

They are in NEED of some help!

- Everything PRE-event related

- Day-of event help (sign up will come out at a later date)

This event is the largest of the year and takes time to plan.

We have a great start for the overall idea of the events, games and activities, so now we need help executing!
