Homework was sent home today for all students.
Please note on homework that if your child is having a hard time on any part of what has been assigned to have them circle the problem and bring it back to school for us to work on.
Thank you for all your support at home with helping you child budget their time for homework and also squeezing in reading each night! I greatly appreciate it and it is making a difference!
Homework for math this week is a friendly reminder and practice with story problems. This is a page we did not get to in our last unit, that the students could always use a little extra work on. Story problems are tricky! The more we work and read through each problem, the more we will understand the process of visualizing the story and solving the problems!
The students enjoyed working with our secret code cards in class. This is an extra set they can keep at home. Have them show you how to build numbers and also take them apart. Just like when it comes to reading words!
They should be able to show you the standard form of a number and expand it out to its own place value.
We have been working our way through Unit 2 in math!
Unit 2: Addition within 200
Students will:
Extend base ten understanding to hundreds: three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens and ones
Compute sums within 1000 using place value: use place value understanding and properties of operations to add
Become fluent with addition within 100
Explain why addition and subtraction strategies work
