Happy Veterans Day!
We supported this day in our classroom! The students read a great classroom magazine on veterans and veteran families. *This can be found in your child's Google Classroom.
We used this opportunity to also talk about main idea and details that link to our classroom learning. Then we followed up our conversation with writing a note to one of our nations heroes, thanking them for their service and dedication to our country and its citizens!
These letters the students wrote will be sent to Operation Gratitude, to then be sent to veterans around the country. Some students also know a veteran in the family that we will also find addresses for.
It was awesome to see the students engaged in this activity where they can send kindness and appreciation to such an important figure in our country. Some students even requested to do more than one. Great act of kindness!
Thank you to all veterans!! We thank you for all you do and sacrifice!
