We swapped! The walk down to the swap had the students exploding with excitement knowing they were about to enter the gym to get new books! They scrambled to look through the STACKS of books, wishing they could have them ALL!
In the end, they walked back with MANY new reads to enjoy. Needless to say, we HAD to take that time right after swapping and before lunch to gander through our new texts and of course share our great finds with a partner. It is so cool when they get that excited about books and reading!
