Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching! I look forward to meeting with each one of you to discuss your child's progress so far in second grade. Please make sure you have signed up for a time and date to meet.

During this time the Scholastic Book Fair will also be at our school for students and parents to shop! Please stop in before or after conferences to check out all the great book selections.
The book fair will be at WW from Oct. 21-29.
A Scholastic Book order form also came home from our classroom as an extra avenue of book shopping for all families. Order forms are due back to for this to the classroom on Friday, Oct. 23.
There are MANY great books and series to shop for and two different places to do it!

Friday Folders
Coming home in your child's Friday Folders you will see many activities students completed in regards to new concepts learned throughout the week in CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts). These are lessons that we discussed and practiced, that students then use and apply to their reading and writing.
If time permits, look over these pages and ask your child about the different topics they were introduced to.
Very awesome to hear and see the effects this has on the students when they apply it to areas outside CKLA!!
Weather
Colder weather is quickly approaching! We saw that this weekend...
Please make sure your child has all the necessary outside gear needed to stay warm. They are outside before the school bell rings, and then twice for a 30 min. recess.
Hat
Gloves/Mittens
Winter/Heavy Coat
Sooner than later....boots
Halloween Celebration
Friday, Oct. 30 from 1:25 - 2:25 (we have Spanish at 2:30).
During this time students will be able to put their costumes on, play games, have a snack, then return back to their school clothes. More details and information to come this week.
