Coming home today in your child's communicator you will find two pages for students to do over the weekend.
The Hot Dog story
We read this story in class from our readers, The Cat Bandit. The Hot Dog was one of a few stories we have read so far involving the cat bandit character. See if your child can recall and connect similarities to The Hot Dog, The Chicken Nugget, and The Snack Mix.
All stories in our readers we have used to connect different lessons (syllables, tricky letters (g & c), tricky words, onomatopoeia, suffixes, sequencing, etc) thus far. Students have even noticed our spelling words popping up many times through our different discussions and stories!
Please encourage your child to read The Hot Dog story at home to a partner who can help read along.
Tricky Words
Students can fill in the blanks using the appropriate tricky words from the word bank.
See if they can tell you why some words are called tricky words.
